Can you use wood burner on leather?

Woodburning, or pyrography, is the process of drawing on wood by burning lines into its surface with a soldering iron-type tool. By using this tool on leather or suede, you can decorate and personalize anything from belts to wallets to shoes.

How do you prepare leather for pyrography?

PREPARING LEATHER

  1. STEP 1 – WET THE LEATHER. Place the leather, skin side up, on a clean smooth surface.
  2. STEP 2 – SMOOTH THE SKIN. After the leather is very damp, firmly rub over the entire skin surface of the leather with the burnisher of your choice.
  3. STEP 3 – SMOOTH THE FLESH.
  4. STEP 4 – LET DRY.

Can you use a scorch marker on leather?

Can the Scorch Marker be used on leather? Yes, but with limited results. The Scorch Marker can burn designs into leather, however, the high heat seems to cause warping.
