VCDS works fine on Apple Mac computers that have Intel processors (all modern Macs) when Windows is installed on them using Boot Camp. If you do not wish to install Windows, we now offer a platform-independent version of VCDS called “VCDS-Mobile”.

What do I need to run Vagcom?

To use VCDS you’ll need:

1. A Laptop, Netbook or Tablet PC (a desktop is OK, but I recommend a laptop as some procedures require the car to be driven)
2. Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8 or Windows 10 (32 or 64 bit)
3. At least 512mb ram on XP, and 1gb on Vista, 7, 8 or Windows 10 (32 or 64 bit)
4. Screen size of at least 800×600.

Does Vagcom work on Audi?

VAG-COM is a cable Interface that plugs into the car’s OBD port. Hence it’s a diagnostic software that will diagnose vehicles with VAG engines, meaning it covers nearly all Audi, Volkswagen Seat and Skoda models. It also works on non-VAG vehicles, but is limited to generic OBD2 system of Engine and Transmission.

VCDS software is basically used to diagnose and adjust motor vehicles from the Volkswagen Group. It enables users to view and adjust data that different car computers use. With the right cable, the software can be used in examining any car from VAG group for maintenance and diagnostic procedures.

Can VCDS run on Android?

VCDS-Mobile® makes diagnostics for VW/Audi for VW/Audi Group cars accessible via most modern mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets. It is not an “App” for Android or any other OS. It is platform independent, meaning it can be used on any device that has WiFi and a modern browser.

Does VAG-COM work on seat?

Among the vehicles whose data can be diagnosed and adjusted using this software include Volkswagen Passenger, SEAT, Skoda automobiles and Audi. Basically, VAGCOM interface connects to Data Link Connector of the car – and USB port of the computer.

Is VAG-COM free?

VCDS is the new name for vag-com’s software. It is FREE to download and will work as a full version with the ross-tech cable, hence why purchasing “vag-com cables” off of eBay isn’t a good idea…

Can VAG-COM read other cars?

Generic OBD-II functionality is “Supported” only on VW, Audi, Seat, and Skoda cars. It will likely work on many other brands of cars. We’d be happy to receive feedback as to what other brands and models of cars it does and does not work on, however, we do not feel obligated to make it work on other manufacturer’s cars.
