Chest: Measuring tape should be underneath arms and over largest part of chest. Overarm: Measure over the arms with the jacket off, across the largest part of chest and upper arms. Waist: Measure just below bellybutton where dress pants are usually worn. Hips: Measure across largest part of seat and thigh.

Are tux measurements free?

That means you can go into any “brick and mortar” tuxedo shop or Men’s Warehouse in your area and ask for complimentary measurements, and they will take them for you, free of charge. Keep in mind tuxedo shops use different measurements than those used by a “tailor”.
